So long story short, some asshat on ebay is trying to pass off a reproduction copy of Dracula X for the PC engine for 120-something dollars and it just kills me because the ORIGINAL goes for something similar nowadays.  I just don’t get it. Here’s a pic of the listing on ebay yesterday. rondoreprogauge

What’s worse, this has been like the third time I’ve seen this with these copies on ebay in the last couple months. Coincidentally, a PC-Engine/Turbografx  enthusiast group on facebook was giving away copies of this game for the mere-donation of 5 dollars per disc. Granted, there are other ways to obtain this disc.. however, it seems all too fishy that these copies would start popping up shortly after these games were given out. Unfortunately, opportunists are always on the look out for things like this and the PC Engine?TG-16 community seems to attract such individuals, sadly. I guess FLIPPERS GONNA FLIP!
Some people might say things like “Who cares? It’s their copy, they can do what they want” or “If people are stupid enough to pay that much, then it’s their fault” and although those may seem like valid arguments, the issue here is that these games were given out as a service to fans of the game that can’t afford the high price of the original copy of the game. Selling the game for the same price as the original defeats the whole purpose. But people shouldn’t be selling these for this much anyway! Especially if you paid next to nothing for your own copy… But in the end, people are people and they’ll do what they’ll do. End Rant.
